About Barn Yard Posies And My Love For Flowers

The land that my house and garden sit on used to be the site of my Dad’s barn. It is just up the road from my childhood farmhouse.
Barn Yard Posies revolves around my Dad and Mom, who have both passed away, but were the best examples ever! They taught us how to care, share and help out. They raised 8 kids while working hard in the farm fields and garden. We may not have been rich, but our lives were rich and we had all we needed because of our loving parents.
After my Mom passed away, I had the idea to grow a cut flower field because my Mom (and me!) loved flowers and she had many in the garden and around the farm. She often referred to them as “posies”.
My barn shop, where I create bouquets, is another remembrance of Dad and Mom as the walls are the barn siding of my family farm's barn that was torn down. My table is an old butcher table of my Dad’s and the sink is their old washer.
All these wonderful memories inspired the name Barn Yard Posies.
A Little About Me
Hi! I’m the gardener/florist behind Barn Yard Posies! Barn Yard Posies was started in 2022 when I acquired a couple more acres of land around my home after Mom's passing. She and I shared a love of flowers, so to honor her and my late Dad, I created Barn Yard Posies!
I have blessed to be a stay at home Mom since my adult son was a year old! I’ve definitely stayed busy during that time, but a couple years ago I had an idea to turn my love for flowers into a business!
I’ve added a few new flower varieties each year and more in quantity as well! I enjoy arranging bouquets for people and spreading joy! I have also been fortunate enough to have a few local businesses carry my bouquets for sale.
The Silo
The old grain bin was assembled in 2023 and I love having it as part of my Barn Yard Posies business.
I have been hosting open houses and events in the silo the last several years. The events center around gathering friends and/or family, having fun and learning something new by creating your own floral project to take home. Pressed flower pictures, terrariums and painted pumpkins are just of the few fun activities to date.
It is a fun, unique place to showcase my flowers, right beside the garden!
